Dec 21, 2019 In closing, Animal Jam is NOT dying. Although we’ve had some pretty big Jammers quit, it only paves the way for a new generation to take the stand. Animal Jam is a very popular game, and won’t be closing down anytime soon. I hope this helped clarify things up, as well as teach you a thing or two about the game we all know and love! Mar 30, 2015 What Famous Animal Jam YouTuber are you? What is your favorite color? (IM SO EVIL.) Aubergine. Black and other colors. What's your Animal Crossing personality? What Era Should You Have Been Born In? Which Bnha character would be your sibling. What superpower do you have?
You play as an animal (starter choices are rabbit, panda, koala, monkey, penguin, tiger and wolf) that you can modify by changing its colours, dressing them up, etc. The game is set in a peaceful-looking land known as Jamaa, which has lots of lore surrounding it. You can explore Jamaa, play games, make friends and go on adventures.
Plot
Some heron bird named 'Mira' disappeared into nothingness for some unexplained reason. Oh, and the animal shamans are battling these one-eyed, six-tentacled creatures called 'phantoms.' Nobody knows what they want.
Why It Sucks Now
- The newspaper articles lack any sort of context.
- It cares little about the non-English servers. The languages are badly translated as if they were used by Google Translate.
- The default colours for the animals and the colour schemes of some places are awfully rendered. The general colour scheme of the game is unhappy and dreary, and the brighter colours still manage to look depressing.
- Similar to Roblox, it's a scheme for parents to feel that it's worth investing in for their children.
- The moderators are useless and practically non-existent. They do nothing to solve things like bullying and scamming, both of which are prevalent in the game. They are also shamelessly playing favourites with popular users, as they will only listen to them for ideas. This lead to normal users requesting popular users to send ideas to the moderators.
- The report system is also quite the joke itself. It barely works unless you get about 30 people to report. But have fun doing that because it will take a few weeks and the reported player, if banned, can easily make a new account.
- Pretty much every mini-game in Animal Jam is a cheap knockoff of a much better game, with almost no fun or difficulty whatsoever (for example, Swoopy Eagle is a ripoff of Flappy Bird). The only exception to this is Spot On, which is somewhat original, but also a boring game with a crappy concept. This makes the game an asset thief as they directly copy the controls used from the games they're ripping off.
- The mobile games suck. They are unoriginal knockoffs of much better mobile games that are also available on the App Store.
- Animal Jam HQ sends advertisements that promote its products in your mailbox pretty much every day, and it's impossible to disable them. Last year, it had also redesigned the weekly newspaper to make room for more advertisements. Ironically, it claims to be 'advertising-free'. The advertisements themselves are all boldfaced lies. Adding to this, in a update, Animal Jam Play Wild added a system where it rewards you with items if you watch advertisements. You're able to disable that reward system on the Parent Dashboard though.
- The adventures are extremely repetitive and boring. A good chunk of them are also very easy and not as difficult as they're made out to be. There are also some plot holes in them, which brings us to our next point...
- The 'storyline' of Animal Jam is stupid and lazy. It has changed at least ten times because it can't keep consistency, which can lead to plot holes in both the lore and the adventures. Also, the way that they keep adding 'backstory' without any planning, indication, or proper context just goes to show how lazy Animal Jam HQ is with this.
- Speaking of the story, it seems that the game actually supports discrimination. Multiple shorts show animals bullying Phantoms minding their own business. No wonder why they're the villains! The ads do not help either, as they have the same concept.
- The 'safe chat' option is complete buffoonery, as you can say words like 'Undertale', 'Sans', 'Bendy' (basically any word involving a popular PC game from this era), but you can't say words like 'Dingo'. That is the ironic part. You can't talk about Dingos, which are animals, on an animal-oriented game. The 'free chat' option is restricted to only players who are paying for membership unless the players had a membership and got free chat before.
- The chat system is also so strict that you are restricted from saying minor words that aren't even inappropriate such as 'dumb', 'phone', 'website', 'electronic', or even 'what the hey'.
- Various double standards, some of which add to the mountains of evidence that Animal Jam plays favourites with its more well-known players. In one instance, a user didn't get his art accepted to make into a poster for his den (even though it was appropriate and looked well), but a popular player just drew a scribble and it got accepted. How ironic is that?!
- The community is mostly toxic, (not as bad as the hatedom though). The toxic parts of the community make the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase look sane.
- A lot of the more popular Animal Jam players (most of which are YouTubers) have behaved badly, and yet they are still allowed to represent Animal Jam and earn money.
- Aparri: A 16-year-old who has hacked people, scammed people, deceived people, exploited the game for rare items, violated the rules of the game multiple times, and sold items for real money on a livestream. He is also rude, as he once threw away a piece of fan art that a young fan drew for him on another livestream. He has also been shown to be racist on a livestream once. Thankfully, he quit YouTube and the game for good on December 3, 2018, and has since given ownership of his account to his girlfriend.
- Twinkle0122: Deleted another popular Animal Jam YouTuber's channel (Julian2, but later on, he got it back), emotionally manipulated his girlfriend (LilacPetal) and uses her Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (which has not been proven) as a shield from criticism and negativity.
- Skorm (now Skrmm after his old account got deleted): Made fun of a sexual assault victim, sent porn to children, sold items for real money, and framed Aparri for something he didn't do. He is basically a pedophile (similar to MrObvious in Roblox). After AJHQ banned him, he briefly switched to Minecraft before returning back to the game as Skrmm.
- There are many hackers in the game. Also, if the hackers hack every single item in your Inventory, it may cause you to quit the game. Whenever a player (somehow) gets banned, they create a new account and still continue to do so.
- There are a lot of scammers crawling around on Animal Jam. Some people do scam others because it takes ages to get things like a black long spiked collar in The Forgotten Desert and they don't want to do The Forgotten Desert or don't have enough time to, for an example. However, it is still no excuse to scam people.
- Many items are rare. They can cause you stress and you might even have to do The Forgotten Desert and/or keep trading for 2, 3, or even 4 YEARS, JUST TO GET A LIGHT PINK HEADDRESS.
- A user on Animal Jam Wikia (LightningBluetooth) justified that 'items are rare to make the game fun'. Trading isn't the only 'fun' in Animal Jam.
- The uncannily annoying amount of players who spam the meme 'oof!' Similar to how Roblox players always say 'noob'.
- Even though 'oof!' is a popular Roblox meme on the internet, you will never know how bad it is until you enter Animal Jam.
- Even the role-players can get on your nerves. There are two examples below:
- If you pretend to be someone mean in the role-play (for example the school bully), they think you did it to hurt them and report you.
- If you go to a specific role-play (for example school or summer camp) and there are dorms, you will just find everyone in the dorms talking about drama. It's called a school role-play! Go role-play in the classroom or library instead! Well, OK, dorms are meant for like after-school or stuff BUT NOT FOR THE ENTIRE ROLE-PLAY!
- The customer service is terrible. If you get scammed, they will send an automatic robot message asking for stuff (such as your username, the username of the scammer, what the items you lost are gone, and what time it happened). They don't even help solve the problem for scamming. It also is hard to get AJHQ to answer the phone.
- The game is now so badly optimized that it lags extremely easily even with a few players on the map!
Redeeming Quality
- Non-members are actually treated fairly. Compare non-members here to non-members in Club Penguin Island. Non-members can own many clothing, many den items, can wear rare items (such as spikes), and recently got the right to do all land and ocean adventures.

I've played that game before. And oh boy, yes, the chat restrictions are the reason why this game has gone down the shitter.

Who is Aparri?
Appari was born on 11 March 2000, in Massachusetts, USA, and is a YouTube personality, best known for his YouTube channel which focused on various types of content relating to the video game “Animal Jam”. He’s been active on the website since 2015, and created content consistently over the next four years before deciding to quit the game.
The Riches of Aparri
How rich is Aparri? As of early-2019, sources estimate a net worth that is at over $400,000, earned largely through a successful career on YouTube. His fame coincided with the popularity of the game “Animal Jam”, but and as he continues his other endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Early Life and YouTube Beginnings
Very little is known about Aparri’s childhood and his family, nor are details about his education known. In 2014, he decided that he would try his hand at a career on the website YouTube as it was a great platform to share videos while also offering the possibility of earning income. The Google-owned website is based in San Bruno, California, and allows users to upload, rate, view, report, comment on, and share videos. It also allows users to subscribe to channels they enjoy.
The website is one of the most popular in the world and has become a source of video clips, music videos, short films, movie trailers, audio recordings, live stream content, video blogs, and educational videos. While the website began as an avenue for individuals to create their own content, its popularity has led to corporations and media outlets also establishing their own channels on the website. Content creators can gain income through the Google Adsense program which changes advertisements on a video based on the information provided by the viewer.
Animal Jam
Aparri’s interest in gaming began thanks to his sister, who introduced him to video games. The two have been known to collaborate on videos, and they also have two other siblings. In 2015, he created his own YouTube channel called Aparri which is inspired by the television series “Survivor” – a television competition series based on the show “Expedition Robinson”, which has a group of strangers trying to survive in an isolated location. The contestants also compete in challenges to gain rewards and immunity from elimination. Aparri was one of the names of the tribes in the competition.
Around the creation of his channel, Aparri was highly interested in the online video game “Animal Jam”, and decided to focus his channel on that content; the game was created by WildWorks and was originally launched in 2010 in collaboration with the National Geographic Society. It was one of the fastest growing online children’s games in the world, gaining 160 million registered players in a very short time. It is free to play, though exclusive content could be accessed by purchasing a membership. The video game allowed players to learn facts about zoology through adventures, social interaction, parties and mini games. The game’s popularity has also created various merchandise. It was primarily played online, though it has extended its reach to mobile devices.
YouTube Content
Aparri started consistently uploading “Animal Jam” videos to his channel, discussing a variety of topics including hacks, trading, new updates, and the paid membership. Some of his most popular videos include him making songs about the game as well as Vines related to the game; these videos would gain him over a million views. He also frequently collaborated with other popular “Animal Jam” players and YouTubers.
His subscribership eventually increased to over 300,000 but sometime in 2018, after consistently releasing content on his channel for three years, his uploads started to decrease, and eventually at the start of 2019, he posted a video stating that it was his time to quit the video game. While the game was a big part of his childhood, he has aged to the point that he has grown out of it, while the community has also started to go downhill. The game has also changed so that it didn’t relate to him in the same way. A lot of viewers sympathized with his reasons for quitting the game, saying that they quit the game for similar reasons.
